Geothermal Energy Research and Application Center (GEOCEN) was established on May 11, 2005 within the scope of the “Geothermal Energy Research-Development, Test and Training Center” project supported by the State Planning Organization. The center continues its activities at the Integrated Research Center (IRC). It serves in 3 laboratories: Modeling, Energy and Hydrogeology laboratories.
In accordance with center objectives, GEOCEN provides research and development, testing and training activities with its staff who have knowledge and experience in geothermal energy applications, to cooperate with other universities and public institutions, to support these studies with all kinds of laboratories and test systems and provides continuity.
Within the scope of IZTECH-GEOCEN vision, the center conducts training activities in order to contribute to the use of geothermal energy as economically, sustainable and renewable in every possible way in our country with the methods suggested by science and technology, and thus to spread the geothermal energy science and technology in our country.
